2017 Reflection & Checklist

Currently experiencing a hiatus, you know the bit between Christmas and New Year when you're not too sure what day it is, who you are and what you're supposed to be doing? Yup, that about sums it up for me.

I figured let me do a writing passage to keep the creativity flowing. As long as there are writers there will be readers! I found a bit of motivation, before moving into the new year. Why not do some reflection on what went well to continuously improve upon and a checklist of oh s$%* let me not do that again.

So, after skimming my 2017 Passion Planner I really had a legit year, how quickly we forget! Here's my year in review, monthly themes, and takeaways:

  • January - Doing more of what makes me happy! (planning financially, creatively and logistically)
  • February - Leaped into Running World Designs and had a lot of good times with great people. (Erykah Badu concert was one for the books!)
  • March - Being present, deliberate and detail-oriented helps avoid burnout and replicate successful outcomes.
  • April - Travel! This is a must do more of for 2018 for sure. The takeaway was to be mindful of your travel buddies, this can make or break a trip/friendship.
  • May - Rehabbed some furniture, renovated some spaces, established healthy routines.
  • June - "not to do list," doubt myself or rush the process. Be sure to take a breather.
  • July - Mid Year Map out; what else do I need to do in order to feel accomplished this year? I road-mapped and broke down goals into tangible game changers.
  • August - Summer was pretty lit. Beach, movies under the stars, festivals. This is my favorite time of the year for exploring with my big boy and I have a few notes to mention regarding networking, asking the right questions and acknowledging areas of improvement.
  • September - Humility, timeliness, silencing anything that is discouraging and selectively applying feedback. This month really was the business if I wrote it correctly lol.
  • October - Upholstery open workshops, online courses have been a breeze. These last few months though I dragged my feet. Strengthening my financial literacy and increasing family time is a must.
  • November - My 9 -5 kicked my butt this time around for a host of reasons, but you know push and persevere is my motto, still working on a few things in this regard. Happy with all my connections during this month on the flipside. Cyber Yard Sale was bomb! Check out whats left and keep an eye out for whats coming ; )
  • December - Here we are wrapping it up here's the tea. Enjoy the ride, stay focused, keep creating and just do you! Whatever that looks like it can only get better from here.

I know, I know. Everything is not for everybody, this type of reflection may not be best for you. However, I put together a sheet of writing prompts that may aid your 2017 reflection or 2018 goal setting. It's meant to spark some thoughts not outline your dissertation, have at it, it might be useful! Here's to Running Your World all 2018!

Sincerely,

New year, better me.
