Sooo, let me tell you how...

Reasons change and seasons do too. My, my, my, how time flies!

I hope this post reaches you in good health and emotional wealth. It's finally feeling like fall (warmed spiked cider has been my fave thus far, here's a simple recipe, should you feel inclined to try it). I am gradually adjusting to daylight savings time even though it happens every year, it hit me a little differently this time around.

Is anyone else feeling an overwhelm of positivity and progression in their networks? No, just me? If so, give yourself a pat on the back and keep up the great work, I see you! If not, make some adjustments and be at peace with knowing everyone can't go with you when you're growing. Still, my peoples' though, love when I see you though!

I've experienced a few moments of greatness along with a few growing pains since we've last connected. Some around relationships, the ones that matter the most and a great deal has been with myself and attempting to be aware of my emotions in the moment and what I hope to gain moving forward.  It is not always the easiest but definitely worthwhile as I notice certain cycles, habits, and tendencies that seem to be on repeat. Note, problems seem to resurface when the lesson isn't learned. Reflect on what triggers you in these moments and take steps to not make the same mistake twice. I'm sure there is a quote or meme somewhere that says "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results." Here are some tips to help navigate through tiresome patterns.

  • Acknowledge the mistake.

    • No one is perfect, the lesson learned is more important than the mistake that was made. But it is hard to correct something if you don't name it or call it how you see it. Be honest with yourself and others.

  • Make efforts to correct the mistake.

    •  It is not enough to name the issue and not actively work towards a different solution, hence the insanity part. Goal set, vision map, plan, and attack! Write it down and watch what manifests.

  • Focus on what you are doing right.

  • Stay focused on continuously improving.

    • Stay committed to the right things. If you don't like your course of action, guess what, you are the master of your own destiny, the captain of your own ship (that was deep a lil' bit, lol). If you don't like the story your telling, scratch it and write a new one.

  • Pace yourself.

    • Progress is a process nothing happens overnight (this reminder has been getting me through a lot). It is really about enjoying the journey, embracing the experiences, making the memories, and kicking back with some self-care to reflect on the hard work and dedication that reaps the reward.

Ok, I'll wrap it up, but I write these notes as a reminder to take my own advice and share my thoughts with hopes that it may help others. I want to leave you with this, as the colder weather is upon us and time slows down a bit sow seeds of progress and positivity, cultivate connections of healing and health. Most importantly, take strides that establish a solid foundation for lasting impacts. Many people are going quickly through the motions without sticking to the long-term mission.  Here's to planting meaningful reasons and harvesting overflow with changing seasons.

Gratefully yours,

Nani J.
